Happy Birthday (Happy New Year)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (HAPPY NEW YEAR)
To those of you who say it could be worse
I say try living with what feels like a curse
Heartbreak, heart disease, prehypertension
Will I live long enough to receive my pension
I was setup to believe miracles come true
Now I’m summoned with a bill for payment due
This year started with a lovely dream
Ending with descent in the extreme
Happy Birthday, it’s the worst day
Call a nurse day, get a hearse day
Happy New Year to you
If she kisses you and says wow what a night
Don’t assume that everything will be alright
Remember that the look of love is blinding
She may disappear and say it’s just bad timing
Happy Birthday, it’s the worst day
Call a nurse day, get a hearse day
Happy New Year to you

The Sign of the Cross

THE SIGN OF THE CROSS
At the sign of the cross
The dice were tossed
Another soul was lost
Just before the moon rise
At the fork in the road
A fortune’s told
Of grief unconsoled
Time runs counterclockwise
My only life exists In your memory
My spirit only persists
When you think of me
There’s a room with a view
Where I look for you
There’s no clue
All my love’s in vain
I’m terrified
And I don’t know why
I begin to cry
Hope goes down the drain
The journey’s done and you’re content
But you’re the same as before you went
On your own but you’re not alone
You brought all your baggage your home.

Empty As Your Heart

EMPTY AS YOUR HEART
The unsold house sits empty
Empty as your heart
These days are short of sunlight
But leave more time for stars
Is this the room where you remembered me
Before you made your move?
I recognize my shadow
Silhouetted by the moon
What I liked about our kiss
It was mutual simultaneous
At the very same moment we locked lips
I believed that this was it
We met halfway we were almost there
As you came closer I was unaware
One month later in a foot of snow
You were making plans to let me go
Now I sit on your hardwood floor
Getting less wanting more
Why am I the one who is ignored
While you remain the one adored
What went wrong what had I done
The last I knew we were having fun
You’re a puzzle I’m a fool
I never realized you were cruel
What I liked about our kiss
It was mutual simultaneous
At the very same moment we locked lips
I believed that this was it
We met halfway we were almost there
As you came closer I was unaware
One month later in a foot of snow
You were making plans to let me go

Should I Wait?

SHOULD I WAIT?
Falling through smoke and mirrors
Distance makes it clearer
When you said I remember you
Was I hearing you through smoke and mirrors
Wait should I wait for you
Should I stop
There’s nothing left to lose should I
Wait should I wait for you
Can I stop
What I’m putting myself through
Did I only imagine you
Skin so pale eyes so blue
It’s as though you don’t even exist
The mind denies but the heart insists
Wait should I wait for you
Should I stop
There’s nothing left to lose
Wait should I wait for you
Can I stop
What I’m putting myself through
Can I wait

Lip Lust

LIP LUST
Lip lust, this lovely mouth
no doubt what you’re about
Lip lust your filthy mouth
Whispers, let’s make out
Liquid glitter
You taste bitter
A real rough rider
Make it tighter
Lip lust a foreign tongue
Strange eyes so cold so young
Gold dust on the floor
You look best in nothing more
Lip lust, this honey mouth
Affections I mistrust
Intentions to mislead
Limits to exceed
It’s ironic
She’s iconic
A restless idol
This is final
